CHAPTER 4 WEEK 7
week 7 chapter 4
This chapter discusses the fundamentals of computer networks, including their types, transmission technologies, and the impact they have on business and everyday life. Computer networks are systems that connect computers and other devices via communications media to transmit data and information. The transmission capacity of a network is measured in bits per second (bps).
There are six main types of computer networks: personal area networks (PANs), local area networks (LANs), metropolitan area networks (MANs), and wide area networks (WANs). An ethernet LAN connects two or more devices in a limited geographical region, allowing every device on the network to communicate with every other device.
